Halloween might look and feel a little different this year, but one thing is for sure: you can still participate in our annual HomeTeam HalloWIN sweepstakes!

For October 2020, we’re dubbing our sweepstakes “HomeTeam HalloWIN at Home” because however you celebrate, we’re encouraging safe, spooky fun. HomeTeam HalloWIN encourages people to share their Halloween decorations and enter to win spook-tacular prizes. This year’s grand-prize winner will receive a $500 Visa gift card, and 10 additional lucky runners-up will win $50 Visa gift cards. The sweepstakes runs throughout the month of October, wrapping up on Halloween, and prizes are awarded shortly after – just in time for holiday shopping!

Do you have a house full of hocus-pocus or adorable autumn decor? Submitting a photo of your Halloween decor is not a requirement, but it will help your chances to win a prize. Since limiting trips to the store is probably top on your list these days – consider creating some of the best Halloween decorations with items you already have around the house! For example:

• Bloody candles. Grab some white pillar candles in different sizes and a dark red candle; a taper candle is easiest. Light the red candle and hold it at an angle so the wax drips onto the white candle, until you’ve covered your candle in overlapping “blood” dripping down the side. Let the candles dry, and then display them in some spooky candle holders.
• Perfect jack-o’-lanterns. No time for pumpkin carving? No problem. Simply grab some black paint (or any other colors your heart desires) and paint faces on real or fake pumpkins. Add some scary accessories like witch hats or candy-corn fangs for some extra spook.
• Bat-tastic. Grab some black construction paper and trace the outline of a bat freehand, or use an image printed and cut out from the internet. Try to squeeze as many bats as you can on one page to get the most out of your materials. When you’ve outlined all you can fit, cut them out and attach them to the wall in a cool pattern.
