The holiday season is a favorite time of year for many who just want to take a break once the end of the year rolls around. One highlight of the holiday season is all the festive music that can be heard wherever you go. At HomeTeam Pest Defense, our Christmas songs are sung a little differently. One of our favorites is this familiar refrain:
Jingle bells, stinkbugs smell,
Bed bugs in the dregs!
It’s no fun to scream and run,
When a roach climbs up your legs!
Then, there’s always the 12 Bugs of Christmas, an in-house favorite here at HomeTeam. It goes a little something like this:
On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me a psyllid in a pear tree!
On the second day of Christmas, my true love gave to me two lady bugs!
On the third day of Christmas, my true love gave to me three scorpions!
On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me four calling moths!
On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me five golden tortoise beetles!
On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me six grubs a’digging!
On the seventh day of Christmas, my true love gave to me seven flies a’ flying!
On the eighth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me eight ants a’milking!
On the ninth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me nine mayflies dancing!
On the tenth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me 10 locusts leaping!
On the eleventh day of Christmas, my true love gave to me 11 crickets chirping!
On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love gave to me 12 cicadas drumming!
With all these bugs, who can relax for the holidays? Hopefully, by the time Christmas Eve arrives, you will be reciting something more like this:
‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house
Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care
With no sign of roaches cause HomeTeam was there!
The children were nestled all snug in their beds
With no fear of bed bugs or earwigs to dread!
Ma in her ‘kerchief, and I in my cap
Had just settled in for a long, pest-free nap.
At the end of the day, the Christmas song that we sing most often in celebration of a HomeTeam job well done is this:
We wish you a roach-free Christmas,
We wish you an ant-free Christmas,
We wish you a mouse-free Christmas,
And a pest-less New Year!
