HomeTeam Helps: How We Give Back

Having a servant’s heart is part of HomeTeam’s culture, and we love giving back to the communities we service across the nation. This year, HomeTeam branches held multiple food and clothing drives, coached community sports teams, partnered with charitable organizations, and volunteered at food pantries. In the spirit of the giving season, we’ve recapped some ways we’ve enjoyed working as a team to help improve the lives of our neighbors during 2019.

The Dallas West branch recently held a food and clothing co-op that helped families in crisis. The office got together in Grand Prairie, Texas, to donate clothes and canned food. The Sales and Service departments were so excited to participate that the co-op was extended for an additional week. “We want to make an impact on our community by giving back,” said CJ Jarman, office manager at the Dallas West branch. “I am extremely honored and proud to work for a company that wants to be more involved and work together to help others.”

The Fort Worth and Durham branches and the corporate office in Dallas also held food and clothing drives this year.

Service manager Sam Arnold and others in East Bay are always looking to give back to the community and spend hundreds of hours helping the youth. For example, they volunteer annually to help coach at former Bengals player Joe Mixon’s football camp, and they made and delivered sandwiches to the homeless.

The North Virginia branch supported Kids Around the World, a charity dedicated to helping children and families affected by war, poverty, illness, and natural disasters, by packing meals for their OneMeal program. HomeTeam helped pack more than 13,000 meals for the less fortunate in Haiti. The North Virginia branch also partnered with Together We Rise, a nonprofit organization working to improve the lives of children in foster care, to decorate duffel bags for foster children that were stocked with a teddy bear, hygiene kit, and blanket.

Several HomeTeam branches spent time creating care packages to show their compassion and provide aid. The Sarasota branch put together backpacks for a back-to-school drive, the Naples and Melbourne branches donated chemo care packages to local cancer patients, and the Austin branch created Servant Heart bags to gift to those in need. “It is all about whom you have lifted up,” said Christina Saulnier of the Naples branch. “There is nothing more rewarding than giving back and making a difference in the lives of people in this great community. It takes each of us to make a difference for all of us.”

We are proud of all of our team members who have made a difference this year. Keep up with us on Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter to see more of our charitable work. If you want to learn about working at HomeTeam or are interested in becoming part of our family, see our careers page.
