Snakes, spiders and ugly green bugs…don’t freak out…it’s Halloween and creepy crawlers are cool! Are you looking for an easy Halloween treat for that classroom party or to share with friends? How about the old favorite…cereal treats! With a little food coloring, candies and pretzels you’ll have pests good enough to eat! Start by whipping up a batch of the cereal treats which can be found on the back of the cereal box and try these tasty treats:
Add a little green food coloring the marshmallow mixture. Shape into balls. Use M&Ms, jellybeans or raisins for eyes and teeth. Candy corn or toothpicks can be used for antennas or ears.
Make treats using Cocoa Pebbles. Cut out body with a cookie cutter or any circular item. Insert pretzels for legs. Notice the lollipop stick not only looks like the spider is hanging from his web but makes it easier to eat! Cut a small marshmallow in two pieces, press and use for eyes. Teeth are cut from a vanilla tootsie roll!
Add any food coloring to marshmallow mixture, you can divide and make different colored mixtures to create a striped reptile. Press into the shape of the snake. Add candy or fruit for eye and a licorice whip for the tongue.
