HomeTeam Strengthens Efforts to Recruit Veterans and Joins U.S. Army Partnership for Youth Success
Recruitment of veterans is a priority at HomeTeam Pest Defense, and veterans serve in a variety of roles throughout all levels of the company. “As a company, we know that those who have served in our military are hardworking, tested, and trained, and they possess a work ethic that easily translates to civilian jobs and our organization,” says HomeTeam President Brady Camp. “Hiring veterans is a win-win opportunity for everyone.”
Now, HomeTeam is partnering with the U.S. Army by joining the Partnership for Youth Success (PaYS). PaYS is designed to help soldiers prepare for a civilian career by connecting them with employers who understand the skills, discipline and work ethic that military service members bring to business.
PaYS is part of the U.S. Army effort to help soldiers forge professional relationships with businesses and encourage business owners to look to the Army as a plentiful and reliable recruiting source. Since PaYS began in 2000, more than 835 employers have partnered with the program, including Coca-Cola, Sony, and Amazon. The PaYS program guarantees soldiers and ROTC cadets job interviews and possible employment after their military career, and HomeTeam Pest Defense will serve as an opportunity worth exploration.
“Veterans make up 8% of our workforce today, and we want more!,” said Camp. “We believe in veterans and we’ve committed to recruiting and hiring veterans for many years. The Army PaYS program will provide an important opportunity for veterans to explore career opportunities throughout our company.”

“HomeTeam operates in many major cities across the country, and needs to hire about 800 new team members each year,” said Toby Schafer, HomeTeam’s Director of human resources. “Veterans have the opportunity to serve as pest control technicians, in sales, as front line managers, and in senior leadership positions. The company’s current vice presidents of sales and technical services, for example, have both served in the military.”
Army Major David Hulse, Battalion Executive Officer with the Dallas Army Recruiting Battalion said, “HomeTeam’s relationship with Army PaYS solidifies the growing opportunities our soldiers have after military life and reaffirms that they have options and career paths ahead of them.”
HomeTeam’s commitment to veterans also goes beyond recruiting. The company celebrates its team members who are veterans during the month of November each year, with each receiving a letter from HomeTeam’s president and a gift to thank them for their service. Veterans are also recognized during events throughout the month.
